Leonia Real Estate & Homes

Leonia is a borough in south-eastern Bergen County and was incorporated in 1894 from portions of the now-gone Ridgefield Township. Shortly after, portions of the town were taken to form the Township of Teaneck. In 2008, New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Leonia as the 31st best place to live in New Jersey.

Leonia is bordered by Englewood, Hackensack, Ridgefield Park, Ridgefield and Fort Lee. The town is divided from west to east by Broad Avenue, with the east side (bordering Fort Lee) considered the more prestigious area. Leonia is also conveniently located just a mile from the George Washington Bridge and just 11 miles to New York City

Leonia has a great school system and has a partnership with Edgewater to receive High School students from that town. Leonia has a very strong history of creative thinkers, with five Nobel Prize winners and various other Academics having lived in the town.

Leonia is served by NJ Transit route 166, 182, 751, 755 and 756. New Jersey Route 93 (Grand Avenue), Route 46, Route 1, Route 9, and Interstate Route 95 run though the town. There are current plans to offer passenger train service between North Bergen and Tenafly that include a train station stop in Leonia.
